    We have designed with Decora for years, so our opinion comes from experience—not just a product catalog.

    One of the things we especially like is the finish quality. We have seen Decora painted cabinets continue to look beautiful years after installation.

    The stained wood finishes are equally impressive. With the right door, stain, and details, Decora cabinetry can look more like fine furniture than ordinary kitchen cabinets.

    We have also experienced relatively few order and delivery problems over the years. For made-to-order cabinetry, that consistency matters.

Decora gives us two very different ways to design: full-overlay and inset cabinetry.
Full-overlay doors cover most of the cabinet face frame, creating a cleaner look with very little frame
visible.
With inset cabinetry, the doors and drawer fronts fit inside the cabinet frame. The result is precise,
detailed, and more furniture-inspired.
Both can create beautiful kitchens. The right choice depends on your home, style, and budget.

Change the Edge. Change the Look.
This is one of our favorite Decora details.
With applicable door styles, customers can change the outside edge profile of the cabinet door.
You might start with a simple Shaker door and keep a clean square edge. Or you can introduce a
Dupont or small ogee edge for a more detailed appearance.
It sounds like a small change, but it can completely change the personality of the door.
For applicable doors in our Decora program, these edge-profile changes can be available at no
additional charge.

Shaker cabinets are popular for a reason. They're clean, timeless, and work with many different
styles.
But your Shaker kitchen doesn't have to look like everybody else's.
By changing the edge profile, paint or stain, hardware, molding, glass, and furniture details, we can
give a familiar Shaker door a much more personal appearance.
This is one area where Decora offers considerably more design freedom than many standard big box
cabinet programs.

Height, Width and Depth Matter
A few inches can make a big difference in kitchen design.
Decora allows us to modify cabinet height, width, and depth in many applications, often without the
pricing associated with fully custom cabinetry.
That can help us fit an unusual wall, improve an island, align cabinets with architectural features, or
create better proportions.
Instead of accepting the closest available cabinet size, we have more opportunities to use the size the
design actually needs.

Take Advantage of Tall Ceilings
Decora gives us access to unusually tall wall cabinets.
In applicable configurations, 60-inch-high wall cabinets are available without requiring a special
modification.
That can make a significant difference in homes with tall ceilings.
Instead of automatically stacking cabinets or leaving unnecessary space above them, we can create
taller, cleaner cabinet elevations.

Cabinets Up to 108 Inches High

Tall rooms create opportunities - but only when the cabinetry can take advantage of them. Decora offers appropriate cabinet configurations reaching 108 inches, or nine feet, in height. That gives us excellent options for tall pantry cabinets, built-ins, utility cabinetry, and floor-to-ceiling designs. The result can feel much more architectural than simply stopping the cabinetry because the catalog ran out of sizes.

Custom Cabinet Colors

Don't Settle for Close Enough Color is one of Decora's greatest strengths. In addition to Decora's standard paint and stain selections, customers can choose from an extensive range of Sherwin-Williams colors for applicable cabinetry. For even more personalized projects, custom color matching may also be available. That changes the conversation. Instead of asking which cabinet color comes closest to your vision, we can start with the color you actually want.

Thousands of Additional Possibilities A larger color palette gives us much more freedom when coordinating an entire room. Perhaps you want a soft neutral around the kitchen with a deep green or blue island. Maybe the cabinetry needs to coordinate with a particular wall color or adjoining room. Decora's Sherwin-Williams color program gives us thousands of additional possibilities beyond a traditional cabinet manufacturer's paint palette. Special colors may require additional production time, which we consider when planning the project.

Custom Color Matching

Bring Us Your Inspiration Sometimes the perfect color isn't on a standard paint chart. For qualifying projects, Decora's custom color capabilities can allow us to work from a specific color reference. That can be useful when coordinating cabinetry with furniture, architectural details, or another important element in the home. For a highly personalized kitchen, almost the right color isn't always good enough.

Quartersawn white oak has become an important choice for homeowners who want natural wood
with distinctive character.
Its grain can work beautifully in contemporary, transitional, and more traditional kitchens.
Decora also gives us coordinating molding and decorative possibilities that allow the wood character
to continue beyond the cabinet doors.
That matters in a high-end kitchen. The doors, panels, moldings, and architectural details should look
like they belong together.

Make the Design More Personal
Glass can break up a long wall of cabinetry and make the kitchen feel lighter.
We can use glass cabinets to create a display area, emphasize a hutch, or establish a focal point.
Decora offers numerous glass possibilities, but we can also prepare applicable cabinets for customer
selected custom glass.
That gives homeowners the freedom to explore specialty, textured, seeded, decorative, or other glass
options beyond the manufacturer's standard selection.

Make Cabinets Look Like Furniture
A standard recessed toe kick makes sense for most working cabinets.
But sometimes we don't want a cabinet to look like a standard kitchen cabinet.
For applicable cabinets in our Decora program, the standard toe kick can be removed without an
additional modification charge.
This gives us more freedom when designing furniture-style islands, hutches, vanities, bars, and built
ins with decorative bases or legs.
It's a small technical change that can create a very different finished look.

Make the Island Special
The island is often the centerpiece of a kitchen.
It doesn't have to look like several ordinary base cabinets pushed together.
With Decora, we can combine finished panels, modified depths, decorative ends, legs, moldings,
wood species, and contrasting finishes to give an island a furniture-inspired appearance.
Sometimes the island should match the kitchen. Sometimes it should deliberately stand apart. That's
a design decision - not a catalog decision.

Finish the Kitchen Properly
Cabinet design doesn't stop at the cabinet box.
Crown molding, finished ends, decorative panels, furniture bases, legs, and other details help
determine whether cabinetry simply fills a room or feels built into the architecture.
Decora gives us a broad selection of these components.
That allows us to design around ceiling heights, exposed cabinet ends, islands, appliance areas, and
focal points instead of treating those areas as afterthoughts.

When Standard Isn't Enough
Decora already gives us tremendous flexibility before we ever need a truly custom cabinet.
But occasionally a design requires something outside the standard program.
That's where Design by Decora becomes especially valuable.
When a project requires an unusual cabinet, dimension, or configuration, we can explore whether
Decora can manufacture it specifically for the design.
Instead of immediately saying, 'They don't make that,' we have another option: Let's see if Decora can
build it.

This is one of the biggest reasons we like designing with Decora.
If we can modify a cabinet size, change a door edge, remove a toe kick, use a 60-inch wall cabinet,
select a special color, or make another simple change without a large custom charge, we preserve
more of the customer's budget.
Then we can spend money on the areas where customization really matters.
That's how we can create a highly customized kitchen without unnecessarily paying full-custom
cabinet prices throughout the entire room.

A kitchen can look amazing and still be frustrating to use.
That's why our design process considers what happens behind the doors and drawers.
Decora offers numerous storage and organization solutions for cookware, trays, trash and recycling,
pantry items, and other everyday kitchen needs.
We don't add accessories simply because they're available. We select storage based on how you
actually, use your kitchen.

Cabinetry for the Entire Home
Decora isn't limited to kitchen cabinets.
The same materials and design details can be used for bathroom vanities, bars, home offices,
libraries, laundry rooms, entertainment areas, and custom built-ins.
This is especially useful in open-concept homes.
Different rooms don't need to match exactly, but repeating selected woods, colors, or architectural
details can make the entire home feel connected.

Usually About 5-6 Weeks
Based on our experience ordering Decora cabinets, a typical order is often approximately five to six
weeks from order to delivery.
Certain custom selections may require additional time. Sherwin-Williams colors and more involved
customization, for example, can sometimes extend production.
Lead times are estimates and can change with factory schedules, product selections, modifications,
and seasonal demand.
We review the expected timing when your cabinets are ordered so the rest of the project can be
planned accordingly.
